Abstract

Nowadays, the prognosis of breast cancer has improved thanks to the new available treatments. However, these treatments (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormonotherapy,...) have effects on the social, psychological and physical life of the patients and also on their state of mind; these patients, apart from the consequences of the iIIness itself are required to make an adaptable and substantial effort.

Thus, the threat to their being, the uncertainty and uncontrollability feeling which the diagnosis of cancer brings with, the bodily changes after surgery, the gastrointestinal symptoms, the alopecia, the subjective discomofort after chemotherapy, as well as the change in their style of life and the effects on the social and familiar life of them.
