Abstract

In the case of the affected of tetanus, the revision of the cases cited in the scientific literature show that the habitual medical treatment , doe s not care about psychological aspects, that are of major importance in the whole process of this pathology, as know .

The possibility of per form an adequate psychological intervention with very good results, depends on the affection stage of the tetanus pacient, optimum results are obtained on stages I and II. No so good results are obtained on stages III and IV, since there patients are under the effect of a generalized powerful sedative.

Psychology, more specifically, the psychology of the health, acentuates the development and integration of knowledge and techniques of the behaviour sciencies with the objective of understanding, treating and rehabilitating the disease as well as promoting, identifying and maintaining the health .

Therefore, the current trend is an interdisciplinar aproach to the treatment of this disease.
