Abstract

In Spain, psychology developed in a postwar context, towards the end of the isolation years of the Franco period, and attempted professional work despite obvious difficulties. European psychological schools were incorporated which influenced Spanish psychologists. This work, examines the journal Revista de Psicología General y Aplicada, whose editor was José Germain, since its creation in 1946 until 1955. We have studied the most productive Spanish and foreign authors, the subjects and contents (obtained by means of the main descriptors) and the most widespread journals, using a bibliometric methodology. Furthermore we have done a comparative study with the results obtained. Studying them allow conclusions to be drawn on the historic development of Spanish psychology atthe time and on the main psychological influences of foreign authors.
