The Mediation process for resolving and preventing conflicts in school context

Abstract

Interpersonal conflicts are inevitable in a school context. Nevertheless, their consequences are very different depending on how they are handled. In this line, a school mediation is an useful strategy for teaching students how to properly solve their conflicts and improve the relationships in this context. In this article the main characteristics of mediation, its limitations, and also some questions about who, when, and how to do it are described. The main phases in the implementation process of the mediation program at school are
detailed and their potentialities are highlighted.
