Abstract

First, the institute is located and explained their characteristics, especially its social fabric and the problems suffered in a secondary school in the outskirts of the city with almost 50% of immigrant students. Second, it describes how to establish the mediation team, how it is organized, how mediations are being made, how the actions of the students are affected by the different cultures that coexist in. Finally we explain the evolution of social relations in the center and the influence of mediation in the secondary school improvement and its interculturalism. In this way, students mediators, with their training and performances, become the real generators of change.
