Abstract

The aim of this study was to compare the participation and performance in different game situations, with perceived self-efficacy levels for players and coaches. The sample was composed of 4 coaches and 53 players participating in the under-16 category finals of the league championship  organized by the Basketball Federation of Murcia. It envisioned two games, and recorded the total number of shares and total number of effective actions on the following variables: a) defense, b) drible; c) rebound, d) finalization; e) block; f) shoot; g) defense action h) attack action. Before the competition were given a questionnaire specific perceived self-efficacy mediates the player and the perceived effectiveness of coaches in relation to their own players. The most significant results  indicate that: a) did not show a significant relationship between level of self-efficacy, perceived by the player and coach, and with sports participation or with athletic performance.
