This systematic review consists of 12 articles on reminiscence therapy under the PRISMA methodology, with the main goal of studying the most effective variables for the correct implementation of this therapy. This initiative arises from the need to create information about the therapy due to the lack of information available. The variables include group or individual; thematic or not; duration; whether it is carried out in isolation or together with other activities; suitability of the place; and whether it is simple reminiscence or integrative therapy. In terms of results, it is more effective if the therapy is individual, non-thematic, combined with other activities, of short duration and integrative. However, it is not only the individual factors that are important, but also the interactions between them that are of interest in achieving these results.
Keywords: Therapy, reminiscence, factors, cognition and depressive symptomatology.
