Abstract

Objective: To contribute to the special issue of Psychology in Latin America with a Paraguayan approach to psychology as a discipline, Science and Profession. Method: He turned, as the main source, interviews and articles published in recent years, by EUREKA, Scientific Journal of Psychology only in Paraguay, to date. Academics, graduates, professionals, actors and knowledgeable about the various areas of national psychology, supplemented with their stories, the official deficit and reliable evidence. Results: We appeal to record the memories of these actors to reflect on the itinerary, that it has had in its 50 years of training, and the challenges to overcome. Conclusion: We attended a globalized context of accreditation processes and international certification, measurement of the quality and quantity of the promotion and generation of scientific knowledge, its dissemination and transfer, in a country that has not been characterized by "cultivating a culture of scientific thought "in teaching the disciplines in general and psychology in particular with a professional profile before self in psychological science, with a future, overcome their biggest challenge in the competition for the internationalization .
