Abstract

This paper about “Political Psychology as an intervention area”, presents a general panorama of the antecedents, the most relevant data of its constitution and the investigation lines. Two analysis axes are used: constitutional area or formalization of the political psychology area as a first one and description of the most outstanding, classics and those workplaces that respond to the emergencies of the moment as a second ones. Beyond the discipline that is not coupled to the academic and social current times, the Political Psychology is interpreted as a resource of the psychology. The political psychologist, as an expert in between political and psychological disciplines, uses this resource to carry out contributions that allow to understand and to predict the dynamics of the political processes, the development of the instruments to improve the political institutions and finally, to put in relationship Psychology with Society, politicians with citizens, and citizens with public life.
