Abstract

This article tries to explain how a lot of cultural, social and economic aspects as well as labour and personal factors make the family evolves towards more functional forms inside the modern societies. This evolution, far from defending the theory “the family has died”, only reaffirms the family as an alive, changeable and functional institution, though she isn’t exempted of risks and weak points. The members of the couple must harmonize their personal project with the construction of the couple’s project and everyone must facilitate the development and the satisfaction of all, treating that the family is united but without blocking the process of individuation.
