Abstract

Young people and adolescent alcohol consumption is one of the most relevant issues in preventive contexts. Nowadays, alcohol consumption prevalence in this population, compared to others psychoactive substances, reach the highest values. Searching of new prevention of abusive and problematic consumptions is a constant that lead us to study new variables from classical approaches, in an attempt to increase preventive actions’ effectiveness. In this sense, one of the most avant-grade constructs introduced in this field is emotional intelligence. In this paper we do a revision about the current status of alcohol consumption between young people and adolescents associated to the role of emotional intelligence in a prevention context.
