Abstract

The business world is constantly innovative and moving forward. In 1996, the publication of the book “Emotional Intelligence” (Goleman, 1996) added an element of change into the labour environment and in this way, the means by which persons relate to themselves and to others, plus the use and direction of their emotions, began to be considered a determinant criterion for organisational development (Goleman 1999). The following article presents a pilot programme about how emotions are developed within the labour context, as well as the influence and the utility that the emotional factor may have on two of the most important abilities in the business world during the decade of the 90’s: team formation and spirit, and the capacity of
adjustment to change.
