Abstract

There are a significant research connecting social integration problems and children and adolescents’ well-being. In this study, we analyse the relation between this social problems and some dimensions of self-esteem (social, academic, physical, emotional and familiar). It’s carried out a multidimensional evaluation of self-esteem and a sociometric questionnaire was used to identify the students with social integration problems. In the results, differences are observed among these students and their
classmates in social, academic and familiar self-esteem. These results are analysed. Also, we describe two intervention programs (“Galatea” and “Convivir”) elaborated to empower self-esteem and improve students’ social integration.
