Abstract

This work consists in a bibliographic revision of the impact gender violence, exerts on children, based on the latest
scientific evidence with regard to the emotional, cognitive and behavioural consequences that this type of violence has
on the minors who witness it. This review has two main objectives: to quantify the bibliographic production concerning this topic in the last 15 years, and to classify them with respect to their study population. The online databases used were PubMed, Psicodoc, PsycInfo and ISOC Psychology.
A total of 5 categories were established based on child development, in order to organize and categorize the results. I: The long-term consequences of gender violence in childhood; II: Impact of gender violence on the different types of child upbringing; III: The emotional and physical alterations as a consequence of witnessing gender violence; IV: The evolutionary impact on the minor; and V: The role sociodemographic variables, such as age and gender, has on the impact of gender violence on the minor.
