Abstract

This paper approaches psychological training integrated into sport training for professional athletes from an interdisciplinary perspective. Specifically, it focuses on two young players of table-tennis within the Spanish national team, who are enrolled in the High Performance Center of Sant Cugat of Barcelona. This intervention program describes the system of psychological assessment, and both such program and the corresponding results are discussed and derived from psychological training which is incorporated into traditional sport training. A general description of the annual planning is shown in the program of intervention. Such planning involves the psychological workload according to the different stages of the season and the importance of competitions. In addition, it explains an example of a training session in detail, with a repertoire of exercises that would allow the athlete to integrate psychological abilities on the table daily.
