Abstract

This article describes an Participatory-Action-Research experience of the Community Psychologists of Valencia, Spain, in witch the type o community intervention developed by present institutions thus far, as well as the difficulties resultina from this type of mediation are exposes. The idea that community Psychologists as well as the institutions might adopt a type of intervention wich would make possible recognition and strengthening of the real community processes is stated. Both the Instrumental and technical conception of community intervention is questioned and the idea of Community Group Work bases in the individual capacity of the psychologist in developing links of solidarity as well as a personal commitment with the community is prometed.
