Abstract

The aim of this article is to provide the professional psychology an overview of the implementation of coaching in sports events. On the one hand, coaching is an effective psychological intervention strategy for personal and professional development, and for improving the performance of team managers, coaches and athletes. On the other hand, coaching is a powerful style of leadership strengths and weaknesses in sport application. Within the origins and development of sports coaching, it is important to highlight the contributions of Sport Psychology, with similarities and differences. In  addition, it reflects on the current state of coaching, psychology, psychologist, and the coaching profession. Finally, we present the scientific and professional model as a basis for the development of coaching.
