Psychosocial support work to foster families should take as its starting point the particular structural and functional conformation of the family, that occurs when formalized foster care is realized and they contact with the protection system.

The activity described in this paper was designed to meet the needs of these families for training, information, and sharing the experience with other families in similar situations.

It is important how the parental role is exercised in these circumstances, the need to support ambiguous loss posed to children separated from their biological parents and consider the educational and parenting challenges to those facing by foster family in this situation
